Weekend Lane Closures on I-285 in E Point for Bridge Maintenance
METRO ATLANTA -Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will install lane closures on Interstate 285 (I-285) in the City of East Point in Fulton County this weekend as they continue bridge rehabilitation activities on four bridges and overpasses in Clayton and Fulton counties.

Weather and on-site conditions permitting, alternating right or left double lane closures will be installed on I-285 southbound near SR 6/Camp Creek Parkway beginning 9 p.m. on Friday, October 4 until 5 a.m. on Monday.

Lane and ramp closures help ensure safety for workers and drivers. Bridge rehabilitation includes raising the structures' vertical clearance, bridge deck preservation with polymer overlay, painting of steel beams, joint replacement where necessary and stabilizing the superstructures and substructures.

This $1.4 million project is scheduled for completion in Spring 2025.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and use signed detours, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
