MPD Investigating Northeast Homicide

The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting in Northeast.

On Saturday, October 5, 2024, at approximately 2:06 a.m., Fifth District officers responded to the intersection of Trinidad and Queen Streets, Northeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located three adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the rear of the 1600 block of Trinidad Avenue, Northeast. One of the victims succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital. The other two victims, an adult male and an adult female sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The decedent has been identified as 33-year-old Najee Dickens of Northeast, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
