Over a Million Young Latino

Voters Have Cast Their Ballots Early

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO) Educational Fund today released the following statement from CEO Arturo Vargas following the release of initial early vote data:

"Early vote data are already revealing that Latino voters will play a decisive role in election outcomes across the country," said NALEO Educational Fund CEO Arturo Vargas. "Latinos account for nearly one in every 10 early voters, thus far. Additionally, early Latino voters have followed trends we saw in Election 2020, where Latinas and young Latino voters fueled a strong early-vote turnout."

Current early vote data show the following:

  • Over a million (1,032,073) young Latino voters (18-29) have cast their ballots early

  • Latina early voters have outpaced male Latino early voters by 21.1 percent

  • In California, Latino voters make up 18.6 percent of the nearly 6.9 million early votes cast

  • In Texas, of the 8.6 million early votes cast, Latino voters make up 20.6 percent of those votes cast

  • In Georgia, Latino voters make up 3.5 percent of the nearly 3.8 million early votes cast.

  • In Nevada, of the nearly 950,000 early votes cast, Latino voters make up 15.4 percent of those votes cast
