BISMARCK, ND-The Bismarck Historical Society will be hosting a program at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library's Meeting Room A on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 6:30PM.

In recognition of National Archives Month, the topic of this presentation is "A Dusty Old Box from the '30s." Cultural Resources Specialist Amy Sakariassen will provide an engaging, hands-on experience examining the types of materials found at the North Dakota State Archives. As a part-time employee, Amy came across a seemingly forgotten box of Bismarck City records from the 1930s labeled "Records Found in Airport Storage Building". The information contained within covers a surprising range of local government activities, and has the potential to answer as well as spark local research questions. Come ready to page through the past and discover something interesting.
