PRESS RELEASE: Secretary Byrd Reminds Voters of Early Voting Options for General Election

TALLAHASSEE, FLA. -

Today, Secretary of State Cord Byrd reminds Florida voters of the early voting options available for the upcoming General Election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

"Early voting will be available statewide beginning Saturday, October 26 through Saturday, November 2, 2024. Early voting may already be underway in counties that choose to provide additional early voting dates." said Secretary of State Cord Byrd. "Voters who have not already submitted a ballot have the option to vote at any designated early voting site in their county of residence."

Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 24-212 and Executive Order 24-234 to ensure residents impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton still have the ability to vote. Residents who live in the affected counties may contact their county Supervisor of Elections office directly for information about early voting.

Early Voting is when a person casts a ballot prior to Election Day at a location designated by the Supervisor of Elections and deposits the voted ballot into the tabulation voting system. The process and voting equipment are the same as used on Election Day.

Florida voters who have questions about early voting should contact their county Supervisor of Elections for information.

The Division of Elections posts daily online statistics on early voting and vote-by-mail based on county-specific reports filed by Supervisors of Elections.

Florida law provides eligible voters three options to exercise their right to vote: voting at the polls on Election Day, early voting, and voting-by-mail. Voters are encouraged to contact their county Supervisor of Elections office for additional information about these options.
