The Fargo Police Department Releases Names of Those Involved in Officer Involved Shooting on November 13, 2024

As standard policy, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation is conducting the investigation into this incident

The Fargo Police Department (FPD) is identifying the names of those involved in the critical incident which occurred on November 13, 2024, near the 6100 block of 61st Ave. S. in Fargo.

Preliminary information indicates that officers were dispatched for a medical assist for a suicidal individual in a residence in south Fargo at approximately 10:52 a.m. Upon arrival, officers learned that an individual was armed inside the home. Emergency medical services were staged nearby as officers engaged in a dialogue in an attempt to help the individual. After a period of time, the individual exited the house with a handgun. Sgt. Lucas Mock and Officer Princeten Harris subsequently discharged their firearms. The individual, 65-year-old Peter Greco, was pronounced deceased on the scene.

Fargo Police Sgt. Lucas Mock is an eight-year veteran member of The Fargo Police Department. Sgt. Mock started with the department in 2016 as a patrol officer and was promoted to the rank of sergeant in November 2021; he now serves as a day shift supervisor in the Neighborhood Services Division. Sgt. Mock is currently the Commander of the FPD's Crowd Management Team, previously served on the Red River Valley SWAT team for four years and was an instructor in the Training and Development Unit.

Fargo Police Officer Princeten Harris has been with the department for ten months and is a recent graduate of Fargo Police Academy Class VII. Officer Harris is currently completing his field training in the FPD Police Training Officer program.

Sgt. Mock and Officer Harris have been placed on paid administrative leave while the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NDBCI) conducts an investigation into the use of force; media inquiries related to this incident should be directed to the NDBCI office. The Fargo Police Department's standard policy is to place personnel involved in officer-involved shootings on administrative leave until the investigation into the use of force has been completed.
