LUBBOCK -Maintenance work and repairs continue next week on several Lubbock area bridges. Work on the south Loop 289 direct connect bridge to northbound I-27 has been completed and work will move onto the US 84 bridges at I-27.
The Loop direct connect bridge will be closed on Monday, Nov. 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., to remove concrete traffic barriers (CTB). Traffic will be detoured to 82nd Street.
Also, during this time, the westbound US 84 mainlanes will be closed to set up CTB. Traffic will be detour onto the frontage road. Eastbound US 84 will be closed on Tuesday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., to allow crews to safely set up CTB. Again, traffic will be detoured onto the frontage road. Both directions will be down to one lane during the maintenance work.
Then on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the I-27 southbound frontage road connector bridge to the westbound Loop 289 frontage road will be closed to traffic to allow crews to remove and move CTB. Traffic will be detoured to 82nd Street.
Also happening Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the I-27 southbound frontage road bridge, just south of 66th Street, will be closed to traffic as crews set CTB. Traffic will be detoured to University Avenue.
Work will take place weather permitting.
