“Catch Me If You Can” Takes Flight on Ithaca College Stage

Musical tells unbelievably true story of quintessential con man.

The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dancecontinues its 2024-25 stage season with a production of the hit Broadway musical "Catch Me If You Can," the unbelievably true story of master of deception Frank Abagnale Jr.

Presented in the Hoerner Theatre, "Catch Me If You Can" will run select dates November 6-13.

Transport yourself to 37,000 feet in the sky as Abegnale successfully poses as an airline pilot-as well as a doctor and lawyer. While the con artist is living the high life, FBI agent Carl Hanratty pursues Abegnale across the country to make him pay for his crimes. There's no escaping the high energy of this musical cat-and-mouse chase.

With book by Terrence McNally, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Shaiman and Scott Whitman, the Tony-nominated show is based on the 2002 Steven Spielberg film of the same name.

This production is directed by Gavin Mayer, with music direction by Christopher Zemliauskas and choreography by Tuan Malinowski '18.

While preparing for the show, the cast and crew had the opportunity to visit via Zoom with Tony Award-winning actor Aaron Tveit. The 2005 Ithaca College graduate played Abegnale in the original 2011 Broadway production.

Tickets are available for purchase online at tickets.ithaca.edu. The Center for Theatre and Dance Box Office in Dillingham Center is open for in-person ticket sales Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. - 4 p.m., or by phone at 607-274-3224.
