The FDNY Robotics Unit will Display New Capabilities of Robotic "Dogs"
During National Fire Prevention Month, FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker and the Police Athletic League (PAL) of New York have held a series of successful Fire Prevention Month events in Harlem and the Bronx. The final event will be held on Monday, November 4th, 2024, at 11 a.m. at P.S. 78 at 35 Hill Street on Staten Island.
Youth from Grades 2-5 will engage with the FDNY's Fire Safety Education and Mobile CPR Units, Robotics Unit, and BFI K-9 Unit to learn critical information about fire safety, FDNY careers, and emergency preparedness.
During the event, the FDNY Robotics Unit will display the FDNY's two robotic dogs, including recent improvements to communication, navigation, and camera capabilities.
