Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to a fire on Vaughan Street

Released: November 1, 2024 at 9 p.m.
Winnipeg, MB- At 6:50 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2024, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a fire in a four-storey apartment building in the 200 block of Vaughan Street.

When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the building. They helped evacuate residents who were inside the building. Other residents self-evacuated before crews arrived.

Firefighters launched an offensive attack, fighting the fire from inside the building. They declared the fire under control at 7:16 p.m.

Paramedics treated and transported three patients to hospital, all in stable condition.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available. Residents in suites that are not damaged from smoke and fire have returned to their suites.
