City of Sandy Springs Gains Asbury Automotive Group's Headquarters

November 5, 2024

The City of Sandy Springs is excited to announce that Asbury Automotive Group, one of the largest franchised automotive groups in the U.S., will be relocating its headquarters to Sandy Springs next year. Asbury has signed the purchase agreement and is scheduled to close within 30 days on the former Newell Brands, Inc. headquarters at 6655 Peachtree Dunwoody Rd., where it plans to renovate the 98,000 sq. ft. facility in preparation for its move, anticipated in late Summer 2025.

"We are very excited to welcome the Asbury Automotive Group to Sandy Springs," said Mayor Rusty Paul. "Asbury will bring 350 new jobs to our City, adding high-quality employment opportunities and significant economic impact to our community."

To support this relocation, the Sandy Springs City Council approved the request from Asbury Automotive Group for an Economic Incentive that includes waiving the building permit fees and business occupational taxes for three years. The estimated value of the waived fees that Asbury qualified for under the City's Economic Development Incentive Policy totals $254,500.

"We look forward to our move to the Perimeter area of Sandy Springs. This is an exciting change for the team and will afford our current and future employees many benefits, both in the building itself and conveniences in the surrounding community," said David Hult, Asbury President & CEO. "Sandy Springs provides direct access to the heart of Atlanta, world-class restaurants and entertainment, and the World's Busiest Airport, Hartsfield-Jackson. We are proud to call it our corporate home."

Ideally situated in Atlanta's Central Perimeter, Sandy Springs is home to many Fortune 200, 500 and 1000 companies. Among the largest corporate employers are United Parcel Service (UPS), Smurfit WestRock, Veritiv Corp., Newell Brands Inc., Intercontinental Exchange/NYSE, ServiceMaster, Graphic Packaging, Cox Communications, Inspire Brands, Focus Brands, and Mercedes Benz USA.
