City Connect: Next Step on Bonds, Planning Ahead, & Pumpkin Drop Continues!

Planning Staff Hosting Office Hours on New UDO

City-County Planning staff will be holding office hours to discuss the new Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).

Staff are updating the UDO, which sets the rules for how land in developed in Durham, and we want your input!

Monthly office hours will be held at the Durham County Main Library through August 2025:

  • First Thursday, 3 - 6 p.m.
  • Third Thursday, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Call for Artists: Beechwood Cemetery Living History Performance Project

Artists and artist teams are invited to submit applications for performance opportunities at the grand opening of the Beechwood Cemetery Columbarium in May 2025.

This initiative seeks to honor the history of individuals interred at this significant site through the creation and presentation of monologues and a scene that capture the significance of their extraordinary lives.

The application deadline is Monday, December 2, at 3 p.m.

Big Sweep Big Success

Big Sweep events held throughout October had a big impact on Durham's environment!

Overall, 820 volunteers removed more than 14,000 pounds of trash from 48 locations across the Bull City! This was a record number of volunteers and tied a record for most cleanup locations.

GoDurham Microtransit Program Expansion

New microtransit options are now available for GoDurham riders in the North and East Durham Zones. This program is an expanded use of our GoDurham ACCESS vehicles, which are smaller vehicles and allow for routes and schedules to better fit a riders' needs.

Expanding this service allows more options for historically underserved areas.
