Dr. Richard Taylor, professor of philosophy in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, was awarded the Aquinas Medal for Excellence in Christian Philosophy by the International Étienne Gilson Society at the American Catholic Philosophical Association's annual meeting.

Taylor, who was presented the award on Friday, Nov. 15, was honored for what he has done to promote Christian philosophy through his own research and the Aquinas and "the Arabs" Working Group, according to IEGS President Peter Redpath.

The AAIWG is an international group of over 100 scholars and advanced graduate students working in philosophy in the Abrahamic traditions of the Middle Ages. Taylor has been director of the group since its inception in 2005.
