Why Are We Doing a Special Census?

• City officials believe Murfreesboro's population has grown significantly since the U.S. Census Bureau's last count in 2020
• To receive additional shared state funding, we need an accurate population count

What Are the Benefits?

• The State of Tennessee collects and redistributes funding to municipalities based on their population
• An increased count means more state revenue for Murfreesboro, ensuring we get our fair share
• This funding helps the City plan for essential services and growth, like repaving roads, building sidewalks and improving park facilities
