The University of Iowa continues to push forward with several projects that are part of its 10-year facilities master plan, a key component of which is a new patient care tower on UI Health Care's university campus.

To make space for the tower to be built, several enabling projects are underway now. They include the new Health Sciences Academic Building, a new road connecting Newton Road to the hospital's fountain entrance, the Hawkeye Parking Ramp, and a new water tower.

Other projects included in the plan include a new training center for the gymnastics team and spirit squad and renovations at Banks Field, where the Iowa baseball team competes.

While construction areas can cause some temporary frustrations, these projects are key contributors to the university's ability to provide a world-class education for students and access to care for Iowans.
