On Saturday, October 26, Barton Malow Vice President Ben Morgan was honored by the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) at the Washington area office's 80th anniversary celebration in Baltimore, Maryland.
The annual gala is a distinguished networking and fundraising event dedicated to highlighting the value of college education, supporting the students served by UNCF, and celebrating the legacy and contributions of historically Black colleges and universities. At the ceremony, Ben was recognized with a MASKED Award, which is bestowed upon those who have consistently demonstrated qualities of compassion and have served as beacons of hope to keep opportunities open for deserving students and the greater community. MASKED is an acronym for "Mankind Assisting Students Kindle Educational Dreams."
"Ben has demonstrated a solid commitment to students in Baltimore, particularly with his involvement at Morgan State University, one of the great HBCUs in the state of Maryland," said UNCF Area Development Director Tanya Sweeney.
Ben Morgan joined Barton Malow 28 years ago as a superintendent. One of his first projects was M&T Bank Stadium, where the NFL's Baltimore Ravens play. Other major clients that Ben has worked closely with include Morgan State University, John Hopkins University, and the University of Maryland - Baltimore. With more than three total decades of experience in the construction industry, Ben still finds time to be an active member of the Baltimore community as a builder, mentor, and educator.
