On Monday, Nov. 4, Mayor Lori Klein Quinn and the Tomball City Council issued a proclamation honoring the Tomball Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) for their outstanding achievements at the 2024 Excellence in Economic Development Awards, presented by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). Recognizing TEDC's impactful contributions to Tomball's economic vitality, the proclamation officially designated November 4 as "Excellence in Tomball Economic Development Day."
TEDC received high praise for earning three prestigious IEDC awards:
Silver Award for Multimedia Promotion: This award celebrated the TEDC's "Success Stories" video campaign, which featured Tomball's vibrant local businesses and highlighted their contributions to the community.
Bronze Award in Magazine & Newsletter: The TEDC was recognized for its Tomball Economic Development Update newsletter, which provides in-depth updates on local economic growth, development projects, and business resources for the Tomball community.
Bronze Award in Talent Development & Retention: TEDC's innovative STEM program, created in partnership with Baker Hughes and the Tomball Independent School District, was recognized for its role in fostering local talent and supporting STEM career paths for Tomball students.
Through these awards, the TEDC's initiatives were acknowledged as not only beneficial for Tomball's businesses but as examples of economic development excellence within the industry.
