CISAC backs Statement on AI training signed by Bjorn Ulvaeus and 6,500 creators

CISAC President Björn Ulvaeus has joined 6,500 creators from around the world in a call for the protection of human creators in the age of AI.

The "Statement on AI Training" is a simple statement rejecting unlicensed training of generative AI models on creative work.

Statement on AI training reads:

"The unlicensed use of creative works for training generative AI is a major, unjust threat to the livelihoods of the people behind those works, and must not be permitted."

Signatories include creators of many repertoires: musicians, writers, actors, artists, photographers, and more. Nobel-winning authors, Academy Award-winning actors, Oscar-winning composers, and multi-platinum selling musicians have joined in signing the statement.

The CISAC community has been a leading voice in calls for policy makers worldwide to put human creators front and centre in the regulation of the AI environment. Further details of CISAC's activities and positions are here: https://www.cisac.org/AI
