Hit and Run Leaves One Severely Injured NR24335jc

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's Valley Traffic Division is asking for the public's assistance in locating the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that left a 22-year-old man with severe injuries.

On Wednesday December 11, 2024, around 9:15 p.m., a grey colored sedan traveling northbound Sayre Street, negotiating a left turn westbound Foothill Boulevard, struck a pedestrian crossing the street on Foothill Boulevard.

The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, and/or render aid to the injured person and fled the scene westbound Foothill Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and transported the severely injured pedestrian to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

The public is also reminded that pedestrians must obey all traffic laws and cross the street when it is safe.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
