Come to the inauguration of Missouri State’s 12th president

Missouri State University will celebrate the inauguration of its 12th president, Dr. Richard B. Williams at 4 p.m. Oct. 17.

This is the university's first inauguration since the 1993 inauguration of former president Dr. John Keiser.

"As we mark a new chapter in the proud history of Missouri State University, we invite our campus community, alumni and friends to join us for this inspiring celebration," said Board of Governors Chair Lynn Parman. "The event will honor the university's past and traditions, while looking ahead to the bright future under the leadership of President Williams."

The presidency of Williams began on July 1. He came to Missouri State with more than two decades of leadership experience in higher education. He has proven success in strategic planning, community engagement, legislative advocacy and fundraising.

He has served as a faculty member, dean and provost, and is the former president of Utah Tech University (2014-2024).

Besides the installation of Williams, the inauguration will feature performances by the MSU Symphony, Women's Chorus, Pride Marching Band and Spirit Squads.
