WASHINGTON - This Thanksgiving, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) encourages Americans to reflect and be thankful for the life we live and the freedoms we enjoy, and to remember the millions of servicemen and women who spend holidays just like this, thousands of miles away from their loved ones, protecting our way of life.
Back home, Americans can get too caught up in the distractions of Black Friday sales and miss the whole reason for the season. Thanksgiving remains a day rooted in unique traditions and recipes, and still offers us all a time to express our gratitude and appreciation for the blessings in our lives.
This Thanksgiving, the VFW encourages every American to put thankfulness back in the holiday season and continue living a thankful life knowing every day is a gift and each heartbeat a blessing.
From our family to yours, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
