We're proud the photography community has long turned to the combination of Lightroom and Photoshop as the industry standard to create and share the perfect shot. Over the years, we've pioneered innovations that enhance photography like advancements with Adobe Camera Raw and catalog management systems, and most recently everything from HDR to Adaptive Masking and AI-powered features that improve the creative process for photographers. In addition to delivering you the best tools, we remain dedicated to supporting the global photography community with programs and ongoing education.
We want to let you know about some updates to our photography offerings after over a decade of continued innovation. You can read more specifics on these updates below.

Our mission is to continuously deliver innovation across Lightroom, Lightroom Classic and Photoshop to provide you more power and value across all platforms, including on Mac, Windows, Android, iPhone, iPad and the web. And we are pleased Lightroom was recently recognized as a 2024 App Store Award winner for Mac App of the Year. Here's a quick overview of some of the recent features we've released along with ways we're continuing to bring the global photography community together.
Generative Remove before and after, in Lightroom.
AI-Powered Innovations - Lightroom and Photoshop include a host of AI-powered innovations to help you get to your final photo faster. These include Lightroom's Generative Remove tool, which seamlessly removes unwanted objects from complex backgrounds, and the Remove Tool in Photoshop, which now includes automatic Distraction Removal to help photographers quickly remove unwanted objects, like power lines, and fill in the background while preserving image integrity, depth, and complex details. The improved Lens Blur in Lightroom uses AI to create professional-level blur effects that make portraits pop and add dramatic touches to scenes effortlessly. And just last week, we revealed Reflection Removal in Adobe Camera Raw (Early Access), an all-new industry-leading tool for seamlessly removing distracting reflections in photos taken through glass or windows (a previously tedious workflow that often seemed virtually impossible).

Edit & Share Your Photos Faster - We've partnered with leading camera companies like Sony, Nikon, and Canon to improve tethering in Lightroom, allowing photographers to instantly view, edit, and share their shots directly from camera to computer, providing a more efficient workflow during photoshoots. Plus, HDR photo sharing from Lightroom to Instagram automatically selects the optimal export settings when sharing HDR-edited photos directly to Instagram with brighter highlights, deeper shadows and vivid colors.

Advanced Edits - Tools like Select Subject in both Lightroom and Photoshop make selecting complex subjects like sky, hair and foreground as simple as hovering over the photo. Lightroom's new Denoise has quickly become a favorite for photographers to enhance image quality by removing digital noise without losing detail, perfect for low-light scenarios. Adaptive Profile for Monochrome, now in Adobe Camera Raw and soon to come in Lightroom, helps photographers create high-quality black and white images across high-contrast photos like landscapes, architecture and scenes.

Foundational Improvements to the Lightroom and Photoshop Ecosystem - To enhance the photography experience, we have expanded Lightroom to iPad, mobile, and the web. Now you can edit and adjust images seamlessly across platforms or while on the move, adding greater flexibility to your workflows. Additionally, improvements to Lightroom Classic have doubled the speed of image navigation, making it quicker and easier to find and edit photos. We have also expanded Photoshop to iPad and the web, enabling editing across devices or on-the-go with Adobe Creative Cloud, saving time and adding efficiency.
Looking ahead to 2025, we are focused on addressing top requests from the photography community - like culling, editing and sharing - while continuing to innovate in Lightroom Classic. Here is what you can expect:
We look forward to receiving your feedback as we roll out these highly requested features in 2025.
