For 30 days straight, Corpsmembers from across California found themselves working in a strange new land. Temperatures scorched past 90 with humidity at 80-percent or more.
They wore full protective suits and respirators. They encountered piles of sand, debris, and even a ferry to find their work places.
Their mission is one that will not soon forget; helping residents devastated by Hurricanes Helene and Milton recover.
Survivor Jay Matterom says the CCC "came to the rescue" for his family.
Corpsmembers from Fresno, San Diego, Redding, Chico, and Siskiyou, say the opportunity to help was rewarding and one they'll never forget.
