The Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University has once again been recognized by Poets&Quants as one of the top online MBA programs for 2025 in the United States. This marks the second consecutive year the college has earned this ranking, solidifying its position as a leader in business education.
As one of the biggest climbers in this year's list, the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business jumped ten spots, from #44 to #34. It continues to be ranked as #2 among public schools in California.
Earlier this year, the MBA program also made Fortune's Top 50 Best MBA programs for 2025 as well as Best MBA Programs to Study International Business . These achievements follow on the heels of similar success for SJSU's undergraduate business program, which rose to #2 among California State Universities in the U.S. News & World Report's Best College Rankings this past September.
"We are thrilled to be recognized once again by Poets&Quants for the excellence of our MBA program," said Rangapriya (Priya) Kannan, dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. "This consistent ranking is a testament to the dedication of our faculty and staff who are committed to providing a rigorous and relevant curriculum that prepares our graduates for success in today's dynamic business environment."
The Poets&Quants rankings methodology was determined based on three categories: admission standards, academic experience and career outcomes. Half of the survey participants reported that they received a salary increase as a result of the online MBA program.
Another key factor in the program's success is its focus on building strong professional networks: 91.67% of graduates reported successfully creating a strong network of contacts through the program. This highlights the impact of the MBA's core program, the Silicon Valley Experience , which includes strategic networking opportunities, including guest speakers , resume development, mock interviews, case competitions and company visits .
"The Silicon Valley Experience is a cornerstone of our hybrid MBA program," says David Czerwinski, associate dean of the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business. "It opens students' eyes to the many career directions their MBA can take them in, and provides them with the connections that will help them get there."
"We have seen significant growth for our MBA programs this year and we continue to innovate across all of our graduate business programs. We are particularly excited about the launch of a fully online track for our MS in taxation program, set to begin fall 2025."
