ATLANTA - Scripps News will debut a new program this week with award-winning international correspondent Jason Bellini, who will travel to the scenes of some of the most pressing international crises of our time to find the brightest parts of humanity still persevering in the shadows.
"In the Shadows with Jason Bellini" premieres on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 7 p.m. ET. New installments will air periodically on Scripps News.
In the debut episode, "The Moses Videos," a soldier - call-sign "Moses" - captures the Ukraine war through his own camera, offering a raw, unfiltered perspective on the sacrifices of a Ukrainian generation fighting for freedom and a window into the grim realities of the frontline.

"This revealing new show from our award-winning international correspondent Jason Bellini will bring viewers into the darkest corners of the most important stories of our time. Jason is pioneering a form of international reporting that makes use of new technologies to help him capture stories in the most intimate, spontaneous and unobtrusive ways possible," said Linda Pattillo, Scripps News' managing editor for investigations and world affairs.
In September, Scripps announced it would end the over-the-air broadcast of Scripps News on Nov. 15 and that its national news programming will remain on all streaming and digital platforms. Last month, Scripps named veteran journalist Matt Simon vice president of Scripps News.

"Jason's style of insightful and human-centered reporting makes this show a perfect addition to Scripps News' streaming and digital lineup as we reach our audiences in a fresh way," Simon said. "Our commitment to bringing important and complex global issues home for our viewers across the country, while spotlighting the people impacted, is at the core of who we are and what we do at Scripps News. 'In the Shadows' will do exactly this."
