Death Investigation Results in Arrest for Second Degree Murder

Denver - Friday November 1, 2024 - On Sunday, October 20, 2024, at approximately 10:22 p.m., Denver 911 received a report of a disturbance and possible drug-related emergency medical situation involving an adult male near the entrance to an apartment in the 800 Block of North Acoma Street. First responders were dispatched to the location, and before the man was transported to the hospital for medical care, he asked first responders to check on his friend inside the apartment. Upon checking the apartment, first responders found 35-year-old Natalia Carter deceased.

Through the course of the death investigation, including an autopsy performed by the Office of the Medical Examiner, evidence indicates the victim suffered injuries, including internal injuries, consistent with significant trauma.

Based on the findings at this stage of the investigation, investigators on October 31, 2024, arrested Angel Armijo (DOB 5/14/93) for Investigation of Second Degree Murder. Mr. Armijo is the man who was initially contacted on-scene and was transported to the hospital for medical care. The circumstances surrounding the homicide remain under investigation.

Per standard procedure, the Denver District Attorney's Office will make the final determination regarding charges.
