Opferman joins the bank with extensive experience, having most recently served as director of risk at City of Boston Credit Union. Prior to that, Opferman held the role of director of fraud and BSA at Republic Bank for 14 years, where he developed a strong background in fraud prevention and enterprise risk management. With more than 25 years of collective experience in financial services, Opferman has established a reputation for excellence in risk management, specializing in BSA compliance, AML compliance and white-collate crime investigations.
Opferman has a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice with a minor in sociology from LaSalle University. He is both a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). Prior to his career in the financial services industry, Opferman graduated with distinction as a class honor
from the Pennsylvania Municipal Police Academy.
