Trick or Treat Hours & Safety Tips

Roselle plans trick-or-treat hours to allow some daylight hours for our youngest pirates and princesses and some evening hours for older goblins and ghouls. Trick-or-treat hours are 4:00-8:00p.m. on October 31.

To keep you and your family safe during Halloween, please keep these tips in mind:

  • Homes participating in trick-or-treating should turn on front porch/outdoor lights and clear the main walkway of any trip hazards.
  • Trick-or-treaters should take extra caution when crossing streets, stay on sidewalks as much as possible, and travel in groups.
  • Adults should help their trick-or-treaters be as visible as possible to vehicles, especially after the sun goes down. Consider adding reflective tape, glow sticks, or flashlights to your child's costume or candy bag.
  • Drivers should take extra caution when traveling during trick-or-treat hours. Exit and enter driveways carefully and watch for children walking on or near roads.
  • Make sure masks don't obstruct your child's vision and that costumes won't cause tripping so they can trick-or-treat safely.
  • Dogs must be leashed when off their owner's property, including during walks, per Village ordinance.
