SALINAS, CA - Today, U.S. Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (CA-18) announced that the City of Watsonville will receive $320,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to develop and update road safety plans.
"Mobility is key to our local, regional, and national economies, and thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, robust funding is flowing all around the country for road improvement projects," said Rep. Zoe Lofgren. "I'm glad to announce this federal investment to help the City of Watsonville develop and improve plans that will make roads safer for everyone."
This funding is part of the DOT's Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A)grant program, which supports the planning and implementation of comprehensive safety action plans to address roadway safety issues.
The DOT funding was provided by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which Rep. Lofgren voted in favor of during the 117th congressional session.
