The Israeli Law on Foreign Missions in Jerusalem: A Clear Violation of International Legitimacy

An Israeli Attempt to Consolidate Control Over Jerusalem

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates warns of the dangers posed by the Israeli Knesset's recent approval, in its first reading, of a bill that prohibits foreign missions from operating in Jerusalem to provide services to Palestinian citizens. This move is deemed an integral part of Israel's colonial and expansionist policy aimed at annexing and Judaizing Jerusalem, imposing Israeli law, and unilaterally determining the city's future through the force of occupation.

The Ministry reaffirms that this law is illegitimate and constitutes a blatant violation of international resolutions which affirm that Jerusalem is an inseparable part of the occupied Palestinian territory since 1967 and is the eternal capital of the State of Palestine.

It is time for the international community to take serious action to halt the Israeli legislation and laws that are hostile to the Palestinian people and their rights, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law and legitimacy. The Ministry urges all nations to reject compliance with this decision, as it entails serious violations of established international norms.
