Notable Trends

  • Officers arrested the suspect in the robbery reported this week. The victim fell while trying to get away from the known suspect who was trying to take her car keys. The suspect then pinned her against the wall, grabbing the keys out of her pocket. He stole the car and returned later, kicking in the victim's door and stealing her cell phone. Flock notifications helped officers locate the vehicle, ultimately recovering the car and arresting the suspect.
  • Three auto thefts with an arrest in one case. One vehicle stolen had the victim's dog inside. Officers recovered the vehicle and dog in Olympia. In the arrest, the victim knew the suspect who stole her car. Officers recovered the vehicle, arresting two suspects. During the arrest, officers located 64.55 grams of methamphetamine associated with one suspect, 31.77 associated with the other, fentanyl pills, small baggies commonly used to sell narcotics, a scale, brass knuckles and 157.91 grams of marijuana. Both suspects were also charged with Possession with intent to manufacture or deliver a controlled substance.
  • One residential burglary reported. The victim accidentally left their garage open and the suspect stole a purse and air pods.
  • Nine vehicle prowls or vandalisms reported. In one case, the suspect stole tools, house keys and keys to another car from an unsecured truck. Laptops were stolen in two cases, as well as a wallet, work papers, and vehicle registration. Remember to remove valuables from your vehicle and secure it, especially overnight. We're moving into the holiday shopping season where shoppers tend to be targeted for gifts left in their cars.
