FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

2024 Community Catalyst Grant Awards

BALTIMORE, MD (Friday, November 22, 2024) - Today, the City of Baltimore proudly announced the recipients of the 2024 Community Catalyst Grants (CCG) during a ceremony at City Hall. These grants, totaling $2.4 million, provide both capital and operating funds to support vital community-driven initiatives in historically disinvested neighborhoods.

"For years, the Community Catalyst Grants program has been a cornerstone in Baltimore's ongoing transformation," said Mayor Brandon M. Scott. "Today's recipients are more than just grant awardees - they are essential partners in our shared mission to create a brighter, more equitable city through development that works for all Baltimoreans. By prioritizing equity and access, these investments are helping us build a better city - not just in vision, but in real action in our neighborhoods."

The CCG program, launched to address systemic inequities, awards funding to organizations serving neighborhoods disproportionately affected by challenges such as low housing values, high vacancy rates, poverty, crime, and public health disparities. By empowering local leadership, these grants fuel innovative projects that revitalize communities- from repurposing vacant spaces to launching workforce training and educational programs.

"Programs like CCG demonstrate the power of targeted investment in creating meaningful, lasting change," said Housing Commissioner Alice Kennedy. "Thanks to the Scott Administration's commitment, this program continues to bring much-needed resources to communities that need them most."

This year marks the fourth round of CCG funding since its inception. Twenty-two organizations were awarded grants during this cycle (see attached list of recipients). Eligible applicants include community development corporations, neighborhood revitalization groups, faith-based organizations, merchant associations, and other nonprofits with valid 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(6) status.
