The Chicago Roadmap, which helps college-bound students transition to City Colleges, celebrated the culmination of the fourth Purpose Pathway Seminar with its Purpose Pathway Showcase. This event highlighted the achievements of students who completed the 8-week seminar, designed to help Chicago Public Schools graduates who are first-year City Colleges students explore their values, passions, and purpose. The Purpose Pathway Seminar provides students with the space and tools to turn their dreams into actionable plans at City Colleges.
The first seven weeks are held via Zoom. The final week ends with an in-person showcase. During this time, students share their final projects, present what they've learned, and mingle with their peers and campus staff. This year participants also had the opportunity to take professional headshots to accompany the LinkedIn profiles they developed.
In total, 33 students completed the seminar and earned a $250 completion stipend for their commitment and hard work. This semester's Purpose Pathway completers now have a clear roadmap to their future and the tools they need to achieve it.
