Suspicious incident at a school in the 200 block of Glebe Ave

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Tuesday, September 24, 2024 11:13 am

(Ottawa) - At approximately 12:00 pm on September 24th, the Ottawa Police Service received a suspicious incident call involving two people to a school in the 200 block of Glebe Avenue.

The school was put into lockdown.

Officers located and arrested two youths on scene. They were taken into custody without incident. Classes resumed after the incident.

No injuries were reported and there is no ongoing threat to public safety.

The Ottawa Police Service's Central Criminal Investigations investigated and laid the following charges against the youth:

  • The first youth was charged with three counts of mischief causing damage to property and one attempt to commit a dual procedure offence.
  • The second youth has been charged with three counts of mischief causing damage to property, one attempt to commit a dual procedure offence and one count of failing to comply with a Youth Criminal Justice Act sentence.
