BJS Releases Survey of State Criminal History Information Systems, 2022
The Bureau of Justice Statistics, in the Department of Justice's Office of Justice Programs, today released Survey of State Criminal History Information Systems, 2022. This third-party report, funded by BJS and prepared by SEARCH, The National Consortium for Justice Information and Statistics, presents data on the functions and status of state criminal history files as of December 31, 2022.
The report summarizes results from the 17th survey of criminal history information systems conducted among administrators of state criminal history record repositories during May-July 2023 for BJS. SEARCH surveyed 56 jurisdictions, including the 50 states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. All 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Guam submitted survey responses. This report presents a snapshot as of December 31, 2022.
