You may have seen that the Bureau of Meteorology (Bureau) named Tropical Cyclone (TC) Robyn, that formed in the Indian ocean on 28 November 2024. It is the first cyclone to be named for the 2024/25 cyclone season in the Australian region.
TC Robyn formed well southwest off Cocos Island and is not likely to impact the Australian mainland or territories. As such, ARPC has not received a notification from the Bureau, and therefore has not declared TC Robyn as a Cyclone Event under the Terrorism and Cyclone Insurance Act 2003.
For the latest information, you can refer to the Bureau's Tropical Cyclone 7 Day Forecast (bom.gov.au).
