Minister Attaf meets with his South Sudanese counterpart in New York

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf held bilateral talks with several of his counterparts from brotherly countries in New York on Saturday, as part of his participation in the High-level Week of the 79th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

Mr Attaf held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Ayman Al-Safadi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Ramadan Mohamed Abdallah Gok.

Together with the Foreign Minister of South Sudan, Mr Attaf reviewed developments in this brotherly country, as well as how Algeria can support the process of maintaining peace and reinforcing stability, both through the consolidation of bilateral cooperation in the field of human resources training, as well as through multilateral frameworks arising from Algeria's position as a member of the UN Security Council and the African Union's Ad Hoc High-Level Committee on South Sudan (C5).
