Florida Division of Emergency Management Reminds Residents One Week Left to Apply for Operation Blue Roof Program

~ Eligible Hurricane Milton-impacted residents must apply by Thursday, November 14 ~

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Today, the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) reminds Florida residents impacted by Hurricane Milton to apply for the Operation Blue Roof Program by the November 14 deadline.

On October 28, at the request of the state and FEMA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Jacksonville District extended Operation Blue Roof applications through Thursday, November 14 to continue assisting those in need.

As of today, November 7, Operation Blue Roof has performed installations on more than 5,900 roofs damaged by Hurricane Milton.

Operation Blue Roof is available to impacted residents in Brevard, Citrus, Charlotte, DeSoto, Flagler, Hardee, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Manatee, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Lucie, Sumter and Volusia counties.

This program is a free service for homeowners and permanently occupied rental properties, providing fiber-reinforced, industrial-strength sheeting to protect storm-damaged roofs until homeowners can make permanent repairs.

Residents impacted by Hurricane Milton can sign up for this no-cost service by visiting blueroof.gov, calling 888-ROOF-BLU (888-766-3258), or visiting a Right of Entry (ROE) collection center throughout the affected areas. ROE collection center locations are listed on blueroof.gov, where residents can sign up for Blue Roof assistance using an ROE form, which gathers information about the residence.

Not all roof types qualify for the program. Check the BlueRoof.gov website for details.
