Rachael Selby, EIT Promoted to Staff Planner

Rachael Selby, EIT has been promoted to Staff Planner in R&M Planning Department. In this role, she will support planning and community engagement efforts for a variety of community plans, facilities and infrastructure projects.

Rachael is a highly organized and motivated individual with a positive attitude. She has eight years of experience in the engineering industry, having worked for Alyeska Pipeline Service Company for six years after graduating with her degree in civil engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. Rachael originally started at R&M in 2022 as an administrative assistant, where she staffed the front desk and provided general administrative support. During that time, she provided planning and public involvement support to planning projects throughout Alaska. These include the Anchorage Metropolitan Area Transportation Solutions (AMATS) Minnesota I/L Corridor Plan, AMATS Complete Streets Plan, AMATS Climate Action Plan, MOA 120th Avenue Upgrades, Nuyakuk Hydroelectric Study and AMATS/Municipality of Anchorage Recreational Trails Study.

Rachael has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. On the weekends, she is most likely winning at crossword puzzles and losing at chess. Rachael also enjoys camping, hiking and traveling.
