Jacksonville University's Davis College of Business and Technology announced its most talented future leaders with the prestigious list of Top 25 undergraduate students. Selected by a council of academic leadership and staff within the college, each student has earned their place in this elite group through outstanding academic performance, leadership, character and an unstoppable drive to succeed.
Dr. Barbara Ritter, dean of the Davis College of Business, expressed her pride in the 25 students who exemplify the values of the institution. "These students represent our college exceptionally well, and we are honored to have them participating in our classes, campus organizations and the Jacksonville community," she stated. "I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of them for their remarkable dedication."
These students often work together in diverse teams to achieve common goals or complete real-world projects for major companies in Northeast Florida. Hailing from various backgrounds and countries, these students are committed to their studies, communities, intended professions and to Jacksonville University.
The individuals on this list have shown remarkable dedication to their personal growth, academic success and the betterment of their surroundings. The roster of the Top 25 students includes Katarina Betris, Avery Biggerstaff, Luke Blas, George Bowdouris, Amanda Cunningham, Madeline Cutler, Jordan Dix, Faith Fisher, Shane Gillis, Owen Guske, Michael Jacques, Emily Kubicsko, Jack Kukis, Joshua Kutcher, Jack Neill, Isabela Oliveira Guedes, Alyssa Pouget, Shea Prescott, Mason Sanders, Ryan Scully, Christian Sekanina, Evan Sharp, Kenni Smith, Ann Ubaka and Grace Whitney.
Isabela Oliveira Guedes, a junior, expressed her gratitude for being recognized, emphasizing the validation it brings to her hard work. "Being recognized as a Top 25 is an honor like no other because it means that every second I invest in my academic and professional life is and will continue to pay off," she said.
Guedes is involved in multiple academic and leadership roles. She's pursuing a double major in international business and marketing, along with minors in business analytics and engineering management.
George Bowdouris, a junior, acknowledged the influence of past Top 25 students at JU in guiding him towards this achievement. "My predecessor's dedication and success motivated me to apply to this program, and it's incredibly rewarding to now be a part of such a talented and driven community," he said.
Bowdouris is double majoring in finance and aviation management flight operations, inspired by his internship experience in finance and his passion for teaching as a certified flight instructor.
Equipped with their skills and knowledge, these students are ready to make a positive impact in the business community and continue to demonstrate the caliber of students that the Davis College of Business produces.
The Top 25 students were honored with a professional photo shoot and personal branding session led by the university's career management team. In a ceremonial event on Nov. 2, they were formally recognized for their outstanding achievements.
