HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. - Nursing students in the Ross and Carol Nese College of Nursing at Penn State Altoona took part in the Anyone Can Help Awareness Fair on Thursday, Nov. 14, at the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.
Sponsored by ZOLL Cardiac Management Solutions, the event served two purposes: to honor the individuals whose quick responses saved Hollidaysburg student Spencer Davis's life when he suffered sudden cardiac arrest during a football practice in Sept. and to encourage the community to learn CPR.
The 22 nursing majors included members of the Altoona chapter of Student Nurses Association of Pennsylvania and students enrolled in the Community and Family nursing course. They conducted blood pressure screenings and provided interactive game for attendees to test their knowledge of CPR, AED use and other life-saving measures.
