This festive season, we are once again embracing the holiday spirit and spreading cheer with artwork from the children of CNO associates.
In our sixth annual corporate holiday and New Year's card program, the winning card was created by 8-year-old Ella Zhang, daughter of Joe Zhang, a managing actuary of product management in our Chicago office. The card features a snowman in a charming wintry scene with snowflakes falling.
Ella's artwork will be used on CNO's official 2024 corporate holiday card.
As the annual program's winner, Ella received an art kit, a $500 gift card and $500 from CNO to donate to her charity of choice, the Hinsdale Humane Society.
"I entered the contest because I wanted to create a card that made people happy and excited for the holiday season," said Ella, whose favorite hobbies include drawing, dancing, playing soccer and learning Mandarin. "I chose the Hinsdale Humane Society as my charity because of my love for animals, and I want more pets to be treated well and find a home."
The program kicked off in September, inviting immediate family members of CNO associates aged 18 and younger to submit their holiday-themed artwork.
"The CNO holiday and New Year's card program is a great opportunity for children to express their understanding of the holiday spirit," said Joe Zhang. "It's heartwarming to see how initiatives like this foster creativity and community engagement among our young ones. By allowing them to contribute to charitable causes, we are also nurturing their sense of generosity and compassion."
This year, the program received 115 entries, each reflecting the diverse holiday traditions celebrated by our associates and their families. The judging was carried out by a cross-section of CNO associates. Each participant was given a choice between an art kit or an e-gift card.
Additional Winning Artwork
First held in 2019, this program reflects CNO's ongoing mission of supporting our communities, our associates and our customers in the places where we live and work. Underscoring that commitment, CNO is donating a total of $3,050 among the charities selected by age category winners and runners-up.
Thank you to everyone who participated and helped make this year's program a success. We look forward to receiving even more creative contributions in 2025.
