Revitalization of the Military Industry and modernization of the Armed Forces: Minister Vengu holds meetings with the ambassadors of France, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria

Defence Minister Pirro Vengu, held separate meetings with the ambassadors of France, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria.
The revitalization of the Military Industry and the modernization of our Armed Forces were the main topics of discussion with the diplomatic representatives of these countries.

In the meeting with the French Ambassador, Mrs. Catherine Suard, Minister Vengu expressed interest in exploring opportunities for cooperation in revitalizing the Military Industry, modernization efforts, and expanding possibilities in the field of Education and Training.



During the conversation with the British Ambassador, Mr. Nick Abbotts, the Defence Minister provided updates on recent developments in the Defense Industry and modernization processes. The security situation in the Western Balkans and concerns about foreign actors' hybrid interventions and activities in the region were also discussed.

Minister Vengu and the British Ambassador highly praised the joint military exercise "Corridor VIII Response," currently taking place on Albanian territory, emphasizing its importance in enhancing interoperability, military mobility, and supply lines in Southeastern Europe. In the meeting with Bulgaria's Ambassador to Albania, Mr. Ivaylo Kirov, the contribution of Albanian troops to NATO's Battalion Group in Novo Selo was acknowledged. Minister Vengu and the Bulgarian Ambassador agreed to continue their joint cooperation in supporting the promotion of Corridor VIII as a key security link between the Adriatic and Black Seas.
