A man was arrested after multiple armed bank robberies in Portland.

On Friday, October 25, 2024 at 5:38 p.m., Portland Police officers from North Precinct responded to a report of a bank robbery at a credit union in the 3500 block of Northeast 15th Avenue. The robber displayed a knife during the robbery. The suspect was not immediately located.

On Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 12:40 p.m., Portland Police officers responded to a report of a robbery at the same credit union in the 3500 block of Northeast 15th Avenue. The robber displayed a machete during the robbery. Numerous officers and a detective responded to the area and began a search for the suspect. Shortly thereafter, at 1:05 p.m., Portland Police officers from Central Precinct responded to a report of another robbery at a different credit union in the 900 block of Southeast 10th Avenue. The description of the robber was consistent with the description of the earlier robbery suspect, and officers from both North and Central Precincts, in addition to the detective from the Major Crimes Unit, coordinated their searches.

Their searches were successful. Officers located a man who matched the description at Southeast 39th Avenue and Southeast Belmont Street and detained the suspect. The detective with the Major Crimes Unit recognized the detained robber as the same suspect who robbed a bank in the 3400 block of North Williams Avenue on Saturday, October 19th, 2024.

No injuries were reported in the robberies.

The suspect, identified as Lance G. Fluker, 60, of Portland, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for Parole Violation related to Robbery in the First Degree. Additional charges related to the mentioned bank robberies are pending from the United States Attorney's Office and the FBI.

Anyone with additional information about the robberies or Fluker are encouraged to contact Detective Brett Hawkinson at [email protected], or call the FBI at 503-224-4181.
