Public Presentations Set for UW Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education Finalists

Two academic administrators have been selected as finalists for the position of vice provost for undergraduate education at the University of Wyoming.

They are Michelle Hilaire, interim dean and clinical professor in UW's College of Health Sciences, and Eric Wodahl, professor and head of the Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology.

"We thank everyone at UW for their ideas and involvement as we've worked to identify our next undergraduate education leader, especially those who submitted nominations, those who considering applying and those who applied," the search committee says. "The impressive strength of the applicant pool demonstrates the focus UW places on our undergraduate students, their education and their future contributions to the state, the region and our country."

In addition to meeting with various university groups, Hilaire and Wodahl will give public presentations on their vision for undergraduate education at UW. The presentations will be held in the College of Business Scarlett Auditorium, streamed live and recorded for later viewing.

Wodahl's presentation is Tuesday, Oct. 22, from 12:15-1:15 p.m. The Zoom webinar ID is 993 7976 2212.

Hilaire's presentation is Friday, Oct. 25, from 1-2 p.m. The Zoom webinar ID is 933 6309 9706.

Hilaire, a clinical professor in the School of Pharmacy, earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Duquesne University and completed a community pharmacy residency at the University of Toledo and a primary care residency at the University of Tennessee. Her research interests include diabetes and pain management, and academic interests include leadership development, faculty retention and mid-career achievement in academia.

Hilaire is a certified diabetes educator, a board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist, a board-certified ambulatory care specialist and a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. She serves as a preceptor for the PGY1 pharmacy residency at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo., and participates in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Colorado Pharmacists Society, and is an AACP Academic Leadership Fellow.

Wodahl joined UW's Department of Criminal Justice and Sociology in 2007 after earning a Ph.D. from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. Before going back to school to work on his doctorate, he was employed by the Wyoming Department of Corrections as a probation and parole officer for about eight years. His research interests focus on prisoner reentry; the use of sanctions and incentives in community supervision; and rural issues in the criminal justice system.

Wodahl has been published in numerous outlets, including Criminal Justice and Behavior, the Journal of Criminal Justice, Crime & Delinquency, and Criminal Justice Policy Review. In addition to his teaching and research, he serves as the department's graduate and internship coordinator.
