Foreign Secretary Juan Ramón de la Fuente held his first meeting today with the diplomatic corps in Mexico.

Before a gathering of 112 ambassadors and representatives of international organizations accredited to Mexico, Foreign Secretary de la Fuente outlined the foreign policy priorities established by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

Speaking at the Foreign Ministry, he emphasized that people will be at the heart of Mexico's international actions. He added that Mexican diplomacy has a clear compass: our constitutional foreign policy principles.

The Foreign Secretary said that Mexico is experiencing an unprecedented historical moment, after nearly 36 million Mexicans elected a woman president for the first time. "The vitality and strength of Mexico's democracy has been recognized virtually worldwide. Mexico today has great legitimacy as a democratic country on the world stage," he stated.

He invited the ambassadors to build partnerships during this transformative period in Mexico's public life and emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will maintain an open-door policy to strengthen its political, economic, cultural, and cooperative ties.

The Foreign Secretary emphasized that Mexico takes pride in being a trusted partner and diplomatic voice, a bridge between nations, and a country that champions cooperation, peace, and development.

"We are committed to an international order where solidarity, justice, equality, and freedom prevail," he stated.

This meeting reaffirms Mexico's commitment to building solid foundations of cooperation and understanding with all countries.
