Statement by Congressman Kildee on the Passing of Ethel Kennedy

FLINT-Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-08) issued the following statement upon the passing of Ethel Kennedy:

"I'm saddened by the passing of Ethel Kennedy.

"As a social justice advocate and defender of human rights, Ethel dedicated her life to fostering a more just and peaceful world. The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights has and continues to make significant contributions to promoting the social good and creating lasting structural change.

"Our two families have been close for decades, and to know Ethel is to know true kindness. I'll never forget the call that Ethel made to my mother, Margaret, on the day that my father passed away. Our entire family was touched by Ethel's warmth and care.

"I'm sending my deepest condolences to my friend and former colleague, Joe, and the entire Kennedy family. Ethel will be missed."
