Detectives Investigating Fatality Collision in North Seattle

Seattle Police detectives are investigating a fatality collision in North Seattle Monday night.

On July 1st at around 10:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of a collision involving a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) on Aurora Avenue North and North 43rd Street.

The Seattle Fire Department arrived on scene and pronounced the female motorcyclist, 27, deceased.

Police officers cordoned off the area and detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigations Squad (TCIS) arrived and processed the scene.

The 43-year-old driver cooperated with authorities and was evaluated by detectives. He exhibited no signs of impairment.

Police determined that the motorcyclist and the SUV driver were traveling southbound on Aurora when they collided into each other in the bus lane. Their actions and speeds are under investigation.

TCIS have taken lead on this case.
