Recycle, Shred and Get Free Compost

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the City of San Juan Capistrano is hosting a special e-waste, shredding, and compost giveaway event in partnership with Goodwill of Orange County and Southern California Shredding Inc. This event commemorates America Recycles Day and offers a fantastic opportunity to dispose of electronic waste responsibly, shred sensitive documents securely, and collect free compost for your garden.

Event Details:

• Date: Saturday, November 23, 2024
• Time: 8:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.
• Location: San Juan Sports Park, 25925 Camino Del Avion (access off Via Positiva)

What to Expect:

• E-Waste Collection: Goodwill of Orange County will collect various electronic items, including old TVs, computers, printers, and phones, free of charge. It's an ideal chance to responsibly discard outdated electronics cluttering your home.
• Document Shredding: Southern California Shredding Inc. will offer free document shredding with a limit of four standard-size file boxes per vehicle. Please note, only paper documents are accepted (no binders, plastic, or media).
• Free Compost: Each vehicle will receive two bags of free compost, perfect for garden use. Supplies are limited, so come early!

This is a fully drive-thru event to ensure ease and safety. Place all items in your trunk, remain in your car, and staff will unload items for you.
