The governing majority met to discuss the budget law today. The meeting was attended by President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni, Vice-Presidents Antonio Tajani and Matteo Salvini, leader of 'Noi Moderati' Maurizio Lupi and Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti.
During the productive meeting, there was unanimous support for a budget law that builds on the previous two, addressing the needs of the health system, families, workers and the productive fabric.
The Government intends to give careful consideration to the improvement proposals that will come from Parliament, remaining true to a responsible budget law and paying due attention to public finances, which still have to deal with the very serious damage caused by the 'super bonus' scheme that will cost the public purse more than the entire budget law in 2025.
During the meeting, the leaders tasked Minister Giorgetti with assessing the feasibility of a number of amendment proposals agreed by all the political parties in the governing majority, relating in particular to public security forces, social policies and production sectors, taking into account the financial resources required.
